ACF has called on EU authorities to impose sanctions on those responsible for removing the Yabloko party from the election
The Anti-Corruption Foundation has submitted a formal request to the European External Action Service (EEAS), calling for sanctions against Russian judges and officials involved in removing the Yabloko party from the September 2026 State Duma election.
Yabloko was the only party to take a clear anti-war position, and its exclusion from the election deprived Russian voters of the opportunity to vote against the war.
Our submission names the judges who considered the case — Vyacheslav Kirillov, Igor Zinchenko, Vladimir Zaitsev, and Denis Tyutin — as well as Central Election Commission representative Sergey Sakharov and Prosecutor General’s Office official Ilya Rusakov. We are calling on the EU to add them to its sanctions lists for their role in the repression of the Russian opposition and human rights violations.
Vladimir Zaitsev is already subject to EU sanctions. We are asking the EU to add these new grounds to his existing sanctions designation.
