Legal Work

Everyone has the right to participate in peaceful protests. Since 2017, FBK has been providing legal assistance to people who are unlawfully detained at protests and other demonstrations. We cover fines imposed on protesters by Putin's courts. While it was still an option, we also assisted with complaints to the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR), and we continue to handle the cases that have already been submitted.

As a result of our work, the ECtHR has declared the detention of several thousand people unlawful and has required Russia to pay them monetary compensation. We also provide recommendation letters for those fleeing from political repression in Russia.

Since 2022, the Russian government has stopped complying with ECtHR rulings. Despite this, we continue to handle cases for applicants from Russia, and our lawyers are looking for ways to secure compensation for those whose rights have been violated.

What's our aim?

It’s important for us to support people who have become victims of political repression because of their beliefs. They are true heroes, and they need our support most of all.

How to get involved?

If you need assistance, please email us at pravo@navalny.com.

If your case is being reviewed by the ECtHR, you can track its progress on echr.fbk.info.
