Black Book

There are concrete people behind every crime. Political repression in Russia originates from Putin, but the perpetrators include judges, investigators, prosecutors, and others. The Black Book website collects information about all of them: their names, positions, and personal details.

What's our aim?

In the future, those who organize and carry out repressions must be held accountable for their actions. That’s why it’s important to identify and remember their names.

The individuals listed in the Black Book already feel pressure from civil society. For example, we published the details of Judge Andrei Suvorov, who sentenced Alexei Navalny to 19 years in prison. Shortly after, volunteers put up flyers on his house to let his neighbors know what kind of person lives nearby.

Our list now includes 926 individuals and is continually being updated.
