The Supreme Court has just barred Yabloko from the election on completely trumped-up grounds.Obviously, these violations are just a pretext. The real reason for removing Yabloko is different: in literally just a few days, Yabloko became a “rallying point” for all kinds of political forces and brought about an unprecedented consolidation of society. Without even making much of an effort!Russia’s anti-war majority saw that it had a unique chance to express its position and vote for an anti-war party. The Kremlin could not allow that to happen.It will be very interesting, someday, to find out what they saw in their closed-door polling that made them change course so abruptly and remove Yabloko from the election after they themselves had just allowed the party to run. What I can say is that in our latest poll, we saw Yabloko steadily gaining support and crossing the 5% threshold — and there was still plenty of time before the election to strengthen that result. That is why they were removed.And, of course, another reason was to demoralize all of you. To make someone say: “Well… We tried, but once again, nothing worked out…” To make you give up on the upcoming election — because everything is bad and there is no one to vote for.And what I want to tell you is: under no circumstances should you do that. Do not give up.Remember how Alexei always used to say: you have to see the bigger picture.The bigger picture is simple: we spent the entire year campaigning against United Russia. We destroyed their ratings. They are so afraid of everything right now that they even removed Yabloko from the election. And now they think that maybe anti-war Russians will stay home and not go anywhere.But look at it from another perspective.We are fighting Vladimir Putin and his criminal regime with every tool available to us. Voting for Yabloko could have been one such tool. Now it is gone. But does that change our opponent in any way? Has our goal changed? No.We have simply seen once again how weak they are in the Kremlin and how afraid they are of everything. So we will find a new tool and continue fighting them.Keep campaigning against United Russia. Go to the polls. In single-member districts, vote according to Smart Voting recommendations, and on the party-list ballot, vote for any party except United Russia.
