We are launching the Alexei Navalny Archive
Today, on Alexei Navalny’s birthday, we are launching the Memory Archive — a website dedicated to his life, work, and struggle.
The Archive is available at navalny.com, the website that used to host Alexei Navalny’s blog.
Our goal is to build a complete archive of everything Alexei said and wrote: his texts, videos, photographs, interviews, documents, speeches, and investigations.
News websites disappear, old photos and videos lose quality, and social media posts are often hard to find.
That is why we decided to preserve Alexei’s legacy on a separate website — so that anyone can open it and understand who Alexei Navalny was. Not only Russia’s opposition leader and Putin’s main enemy, but a living person who loved life, people, and his country.
The Archive tells the story of how Alexei entered Russian politics, brought people together, built teams, regional offices, media projects, campaigns, and investigations. How he fought corruption, dictatorship, lies, and fear. How he continued to speak, write, and act even when the regime tried to take everything from him.
The Archive already contains thousands of materials, each of them also translated into English.
Creating and maintaining the Archive is a huge effort by many people.
