ACF Publishes Information Note for Supporters

12 May 2026#Events

The Anti-Corruption Foundation has released an information note outlining the risks of politically motivated prosecution in Russia for individuals whom the authorities may associate with ACF—its projects, employees, volunteers, supporters, or donors.

The document is intended for people who have left Russia and may need to explain these risks in migration, asylum, visa, employment, education, or other legal procedures abroad. It can be submitted as supporting material to foreign government authorities, courts, employers, human rights organizations, and other bodies that need to understand the potential consequences if an applicant returns to Russia or otherwise falls under the jurisdiction of Russian authorities.

The note explains that after ACF was designated an “extremist” and later a “terrorist” organization in Russia, law enforcement began applying anti-extremism and anti-terrorism laws not only to formal members or employees, but much more broadly—to former staff, volunteers, donors, public supporters, and individuals whom security services may, at their discretion, consider affiliated with banned organizations.

It also provides context for foreign authorities, explaining why actions such as making a donation, volunteering, reposting content, attending events, or expressing public support for ACF may expose an individual to a real risk of politically motivated prosecution in Russia.
